The Origin of the World is the nineteenth episode of Oban Star-Racers and the sixth episode of the Oban Cycle.

Synopsis

The next race takes place in Oban's center, where the stakes are high, as future planets exist around them. Will Molly be able to win, or is the drama involving Aikka's change toward her too much to bear? Will Jordan finally have the courage to ask Molly if she likes him?

Full Recap

Aikka secretly visits Molly in the dead of night to warn her to stay away from him, as Kross is less and less lenient with him and wants him to eliminate the Earth Team.

The next morning, the Avatar welcomes all nine teams for a mid-race celebration and congratulates Sul for being the leader so far. Meanwhile, a mystery figure is watching, and the pilots are unaware that they are being watched by him. He says that their destinies are being shaped to fit his needs.

The next race takes place in the organic catacombs of Oban's interior. Kross attempts to eliminate Sul while he orders Aikka to eliminate the others. He is able to knock out Ning and Skun. When Aikka and Jordan clash, the results are explosive. Molly rushes past him. Koji analyzes the organic tubes, and discovers that certain spheres are so dense that they are like mini-planets and cause chaos when hit.

Kross attmepts to attack Sul, but Sul dodges and counterattacks with a sonic vibration attack. Sul is able to keep Kross from passing him and wins first place once again. His attack destroyed the Stone Gate, ending the race. He also destroys one of the mini-planets. Canaletto disdainfullly spits that destinies have been altered.

At the episode's epilogue, Jordan finally has the courage to ask Molly if she shares his feelings towards her, but Molly isn't there. Don Wei is, thinking about his daughter Eva being Molly. He is still somewhat shocked.
